Essay topics:

The graph shows the average number of UK commuters travelling each day by car, bus or train between 1970 and 2030.

The line graph illustrates the average number of commuters travelling by three types of transportation in UK from 1970 to 2030.
The proportion of commuters travelling by car and train shows a steady but significant rise over the period, while the number of people travelling by bus experiences a downward trend.
In 1970 the rates of UK commuters travelling by car and train were nearly 2 millions and 5 millions respectively. The rate of commuters using cars increased sharply during 1970-2020 and is expected to reach almost 9 millions in the end of the period. In the meantime, the proportion of people travelling by train grew dramatically throughout the period, exceeding the rate of commuters using bus in 2015 and is anticipated to reach roughly 5 millions in 2030.
In the early 1970, the rate of commuters travelling by bus was about 4 millions. The figure had a dramatic decline to nearly 2 millions in 2020 and is thought to decrease slightly and become the lowest in the end of the period.
