The line graph below compares the data of umployed work force in the USA and Japan between March 1993 and March 1999.
Overall, the unemplyment rate was higher in Japan,compared to the US. However,the proporion of workforce in Japan rose steadily between March 1993 and March 1999, while the figure for America fell.
Initially, the US reported the highest percentage of jobless people with 7 whereas, japan were at the lowest by 2.5, in 1993. However, with some minor fluctuations, Japan experienced a gradual increase in 1998 and recorded the highest rates of umployement by 5.5. On the other hand, the proportion of jobless workforce in the US fell gradually and recored 5 in 1998.
Although, Japan started with the very low rates but the country tookover the USA and remained at 5 in 1999. In contrast, the USA started with highest percentage but it decreased over the period gradually, fell down and experienced the lowest number by 5, same as japan, in 1999.
