IELTS Task 1 - Tables give information about sales of fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas in 1999 and 2004 in five European countries
The tables illustrates the change in Fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas sales from 1999 to 2004 in five particularly countries in europe namely UK, Switzerland, Denmark, belgium, Sweden. It can be clearly seen from the tables that both money of coffee and bananas use in fairtrade-laballed surged dramatically.
In 1999, sales of fairtrade-labelled coffee in Denmark and UK stood at just over 1,5 millions of europe while switzerland came top at 3 millions. Meanwhile Sweden and Belgium ‘s number just approximately 1 millions. Five years later, the sales of fairtrade-labelled coffee in uk rose significantly to 20 millions euros, 3 times as high as the number of switzerland whereas between 1999 and 2004 saw a slight increase of coffee fairtrade-labelled sales in Denmark, Belgium and Sweden.
In addition, the sales of fairtrade-labelled bananas in Switzerland was highest in 1999 at 15 millions euros , five year later, this figure grow up sharply to 47 millions. Beside that, from 1999 to 2004 experienced a slight decrease in Sweden and Denmark ‘s bananas fairtrade-labblled sale . Finally, UK and belgium ‘s sales of fairtrade-labelled bananas went up steadily from 1 to 5,5 millions ( in UK) and from 0.6 to 4 millions (in Belgium).
