Essay topics:

The illustration shows information about how an igloo is built from snow.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The pictures show a number of steps involved constructing an igloo - a circular house made of snow.
Overall, it can be seen that there are 13 steps beginning from finding the hard-packed snow to completing the livable shelter. All of these
steps are performed by hand and simple tools such as saws and shovels.
After the hard-packed snow is located, a snow saw is used to cut snow into large blocks for the base of the snow house. Next, the edges of the cut blocks are smoothed, before all of them are placed to form a circular wall, row by row. After that, an entrance is created by digging a hole under the circular wall. The last opening on top is filled by an oversized block of snow.
Soft snow is then poured onto the outer wall of the igloo, and packed into the crevices by hand. Inside the igloo, wall is smoothed by hand also. The next step
involves building the entrance and covering the hole with snow blocks. Finally, ventilation holes are cut in the wall.
