Overall, the size of the world population witnessed a dramatic rose over 600 years, while the figure for Asia accounted for the highest proportion at the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st.
Regarding the line graph, the global population numbers was seen from a low of less than 500 million in 1400 to about 1.2 billion in 1700. However, there was a dramatic decline to less than 1 billion people for the next 100 years. Conversely, the figure increased markedly to reach its peak of 6 billion people in 2000.
According to the two pie charts, they witnessed that most people lived in Asia, followed by Europe in both 1900 and 2000. As can be seen from the charts, the figure for Asia and Europe a slight decline from 60% to 54% and from 24% to 14% respectively. North America remained unchanged at 5% of the world population throughout the same time. By contrast, Africa and Latin America experienced a threefold at the beginning of the 21st, with 13% and 8% respectively. Finally, the percentage in other areas rose by 2.5% over the period.
