The line graph below shows the consumption of 4 kinds of meat in a European Country from 1979 to 2004.
The line graph illustrates the weekly intake of four different types of meat, namely chicken, beef, lamb and fish, between 1979 and 2004.
Overall, the consumption of chicken increased steadily, while that of beef and lamb decreased. Furthermore, great fluctuations were observed in the usage of beef, while fish intake stayed relatively unchanged.
The demand of chicken consumption at the beginning of the period was a little less than 150 grams per person per week and continued to rise. Eventually, in 1989, it exceeded the amount of beef consumed, before hitting a peak of around 250 in 2004. Lamb consumption, at the start of the recorded period, stood at a very similar value as that of chicken, but in contrast, it’s demand continued to fall, until it reached a low of about 50 in 2004.
Beef consumption was at a little above 200 grams in the year 1979 and this dropped dramatically in the upcoming few years to around 160, before reaching a high of around 250 in 1984. It remained stable for a stretch of few years and subsequently fell to approximately 50 in 2004. Consumption of fish remained at around 50 for the entire period.
