The line graph shows the cost for watching films. The pie charts show the change
in the percentage of market share represented by the three forms
The line graph and pie charts compare the cost of watching films in various ways and the percentage of each during a 6 year period.
It can be inferred that although prices increased in the three formats, an increasing proportion of people started preferring online movies.
As for the prices, buying a cinema ticket had been the most expensive method of watching movies between 2005 and 2011, peaking at £14 per ticket in 2011. Throughout the same period, DVD pricing also rose up by £2, from £6 to £8. Downloaded films, however, were a bit higher than DVDs in 2005, but this did not last till 2007 as they became the cheapest form. In 2011, the price rose again to £9.
With regards to percentages, more than half of the people depended on renting a DVD in year 2005. In that year, less than a third of all accounted for going to the cinema and 6% of them watched online movies. Ltaer in 2011, prices for both cinema tickets and hiring DVDs had fallen, whereas downloaded films soared up by 20%.
