The line graph shows the oil production and consumption in China between 1982 and 2006.
The line graph illustrates the quantity of oil barrels produced and consumed daily in China from 1982 to 2006.
It can be seen from the graph that the overall trend was upward. While the consumption of oil was slightly lower than the production in the first few years of the period, it rose to the top of the graph at the end.
In 1982, the figure for the number of oil barrels used was slightly under 2 million a day. This continued to see no change between 1982 and 1990 at just around 2 millions of oil barrels per day. From 1990 to 2006, there was an exponential increase in the oil consumption to over 6 millions of oil barrels used on a daily basis at the end of the period.
Moving on to the number of barrels of oil manufactured, there was a significant rise from 2 to 3 millions of oil barrels produced each day from 1982 to 1986. Oil production then experienced a progressively rise to approximately 3,5 million barrels a day between the period of 20 years from 1986 to 2006
