Essay topics:

The line graph shows three different crimes in England and Wales in 1970-2005.

The line chart illustrates the changing patterns in crimes including car theft, house burgling and street robbery in a part of Great Britain over the course of 35 years starting in 1970.
Looking at the graph, it is immediately obvious that all lines experienced an upward trend. Throughout the period, the highest quantity of crimes in England and Wales was registered by the figure of car theft , which was about one million people in 2005.
In 1970, the number of car theft was the highest (0.4 million), which was twice as the figure of house burgling and approximately eight times as the one of street robbery. A relatively consistent increase was seen in between 1970 and 1990, and the change in houseburgling mirrored that of car theft. In the last 25-year period, the figure of car theft remained constant after jumping to 1.6 million in 1995, whereas the number of house burgling witnessed a progressive decline to 0.5 million.
The remainder line of street robbery didn’t alter in the period of 1970 – 1995, before rising slightly to 0.2 million in the end.
