The given graph illustates how many travellers come to and from the United Kingdom between 1979 and 1999 while the bar chart gives information about the countries where the British visit most in the year 1999.
Overall, it is obvious that the number of the visits to and from the UK witnessed a significant increase during twenty years. In 1999, France was the most popular country that visited by UK residents.
As can be seen from the line graph, about 10 millions commuters came to the UK in 1979 and the number for the UK residents was quite similar at 12 millions visits. In the following twenty years, the number of visits to and from the UK experienced an upward trend , at about 28 millions visits and 52 millions visits respectively. The figure for travel abroad was higher than that for visits to United Kingdom for the whole period.
According to the bar chart, at 11 millions , France became the most preferred destination for the British in 1999. The second most favourite country for the UK citizens was Spain, at aproximately 9 millions visitors. The USA, Greece and Turkey were far less popular at 4 millions , 3 millions and 2 millions visitos respectively.
