Making wool (process)
The diagram gives information about the steps involved in making wool from sheep's fur.
In general, there are ten steps in total, starting with the sheep being sheared, and ending with wool products such as jackets or carpets.
At the beginning of the process, farmers raise sheep until they are mature enough to produce standard fur before being sheared for their fleece. The next step is that these collective fleece are cleaned with water to remove dust, twigs, and other debris. The wet fleece is put into machines to dry. After the process of spinning by the carding machines, there are two products: string is recycled to maximum productivity, and turf of wool.
Next, being sent to the warehouse, the turf of wool is spun into balls of yarn. Finally, these yarn balls are sold to knit and make products for commercial purposes, such as jackets or carpets.
