It is often believed that every country should yield the food products for themselves and thereby imported items would be minimized. There are some limitations to certain food products, it is good for national development and agricultural enhancement. this essay agrees with the statement and explains it in detail.
There are many reasons to argue about the minimal food import and local production. Firstly, imported food often affects the national economy and the poverty of inhabitant farmers. imported items have huge service charges and taxes which adversely affect the financial status of the importing country. Secondly, the exaggeration of international food may cause the low costs and limited value of locally produced crops. such changes would be extreme devastation of farmlands and agricultural workers. For instance, vegetables, fruits, and some green leafy vegetables imported from other countries to India make huge liability to the citizen. Along with that, imported foods have credibility in supermarkets and food malls which makes a negative impact on local food products. Farmers might change their profession, and often relaid on other works and it may lead to many consequences in the country.
Nevertheless, some food items need specific climates and some are not suitable for certain countries. For example, Kiwis would not grow in Indian climates. Government should make legislation and segregate allotments for food that would not grow in their country, and import selected items. Therefore everyone can eat different kinds of food from other regions. Moreover, maximum financial and service support to the local farmers would enhance the quality and quantity of every crop. Therefore all citizens could eat pollution-free, highly qualified food items at a cheap rate in their home country itself.
It is inevitable to import some foods from other countries. Whereas enhancement of local food production often helps to minimize overseas food to the core.
