The map compares the advantages and disadvantages of two supermarket developments for the town of Garlsdon, which has a total population of 65 thousand residents.
To begin with, S1 is located in the countryside. Furthermore, it is not close to both industrial areas, most of the housing, and the most populated towns, which are Bransdon and Cransdon, which have a population of 15 and 29 thousand respectively. However, it can be accessed by both railway and main road.
To continue with, S2 is planned to be built in the town center which has no traffic zone. Moreover, it is between two industrial areas nearly central to the residentials and nearby both towns which have distances to S2 approximately 16 and 25 km, respectively. In addition, these towns are connected to S2 by main roads. Although the railway can be reached most of the housing very close to S2, there is no crossing with the main road, nonetheless, the railways go through the town center.
In conclusion, it seems that S2 has more advantages in comparison to S1, such as beginning next to the most populated areas, and industrial as well as housing.
