The map presents information about a town called Garlsdon, where there are two plans for the location of a new supermarket, in order to provide better service for the 6,500 people in the town. As is shown, the locationin plan A is in the northwest countryside of the town, while plan B locates the site in the middle of town centre.
It can be seen that both of the sites are along the railway which goes through the whole town, making it convenient to transport and travel. The most advantage of plan A lies in the lower cost of land in the countryside and short distance from town of Hindon with population of 10,000.
Compared with plan A, plan B is superior in the following aspects:being closer to housing and two industry zones, measuring similar distance to the thress surrounding towns of Hindon, Bransdon and Cransdon. Also, three main roads joint in this area, which could attract a lot of traffic and business.
In summary, despite the higher cost in the town center, the site of plan B will bring in much more profit and convenience to more citizens.
