The maps below show the changes that have taken place at the waterfront area of a town called Darwin between 2009 and 2014.
Given are the 2 maps depicting the modifications of a sea-front residential area in Darwin during a 5-year period, commencing from 2009.
It is perceptible that this region experienced drastic modifications with the elimination of northern and southern industrial areas along with the addition of myriad buildings and facilities.
The south of the map, which in 2009 was diametrically occupied by an industrial area, 5 years later featured green space with trees, and the newly-added footpath running from west to east led to a harbour that was built in 2014. Meanwhile, the residential buildings in the middle were doubled in size together with the addition of the university building to their left.
The south of the map recorded the sustained alterations while the contrast was true for the north. The only transformation in this area was an extension of the exiguous swimming pool in the original place of the industrial area to the left of the lake. Both were encircled by a footpath leading to the eastern coast where two existing swimming pools were located. Meanwhile, the other amenities such as the convention center and the school positionally plateaued on a side of a T-junction road that led from west to the eastern fishing area.
