The maps show changes to Felixstone Town. Write a report to a university professor.
The maps illustrate the developments made to a town called Felixstone over a period of 34 years, from 1967 to 2001.
Overall, it is apparent that the town underwent drastic changes with the addition of a car park, tennis courts, apartments, and beaches had been separated into private and public.
To begin with, in 1967, there were shops on either side of the high street. There was some farmland to the east of the high street and a golf course on its west. In addition, there were dunes in the southwest corner, also a hotel near to it. Next to it was a hotel. The town is bordered by sea in the south and had a pier to access the sea and a fish market above it.
By 2001, the town had experienced some alterations. The shops to the left of the high street remained there while the shops on the right of it had been replaced by apartments. The farmland was demolished to give way to a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a hotel. Moreover, the old hotel near the dunes was renovated and a huge car park added to it. Wind turbines had been established in the southern part of the town. In addition, the marina and fish market had gone, a beach was developed there and its easternmost part had been converted into a private beach. However, the golf course and cafe remain untouched.
