Internet has become the need of todays world. A big quantity of human beings are either connected with the internet directly or indirectly. Depending on the age and nature of the person using internet, the purpose of the internet changes. Just like all the inventions internet also has some disadvantages for example privacy breach by the hackers and big companies for their advantages. So the question arises Do the advantages of the internet outweighs the disadvantages of the internet?
Nowadays the consumption of internet is increased rapidly because of the recent technological inventions and some world wide spread diseases such as COVID 19 which basically put down the whole world into lockdown situation. People were stuck in their houses and cant complete the tasks such as shopping, bill payments etc which they used to do physically. Also since most of the people had no work they need some kind of entertainment. At this time internet grabbed the opportunity and provided a way to accomplish the tasks by providing online billing and shopping facilities as well as internet the has so much content available on it which each individual can use and entertain themselves. A nerdy person can read the books and watch the videos of their fields at the same time a sports fan can pick the sports related stuff from the internet. Internet has something for all age and kind of people, so even the children can use the internet for their studies as well as for entertainment. Internet not only provided the above facilities but also help in controlling the spread of COVID 19 by restricting the physical contact of the people.
Apart from the facilities and entertainment, internet also played a very important role in keeping the world economy stable. The work from home is possible only with the help of the internet. Many IT companies make it mandatory to work from home and stricktly asked employees not to enter the office and by doing it they basically cut out the contact of millions of their employees with each other. Not only it helped in controlling the spread of COVID 19 but also the lives of these millions of employees and their family was saved by this and all it possible just because of the internet availiblity at their homes.
If we count the disadvantages of the internet, we can say that they are pretty much limited and we can even avoid few by just being little smart. We can avoid the use of unsafe websites and content also we can add few security restrictions and antiviruses to our devices to keep the unwanted content and users away from our devices. Big companies like Google, Youtube, Facebook Amazon etc are regularly working on the security of their sites while government also making the applying the strict policies for the companies which trying to steal our personal data. Cyber police also present in almost all the countries which provide the assistant in response to the frauds.
Finally, we can conclude that even though there are some disadvantages associated with the internet but we can not ignore the advantages of internet. Internet is the future and its making our life more easy.
