The pie chart below shows the main reasons why agricultural land becomes less productive. The table shows how these causes affected three regions of the world during the 1990s.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The provided pie chart illustrates four main causes which lead to decreased global farmland. Generally, it is clear that 65% of land degradation is the result of animal grazing and tree cutting, which account for 35% and 30% respectively. The third reason for less productive farmland is over-cultivation, which had a proportion of 28%. Meanwhile, 7% of degraded farmland is caused by other unexplicit reasons.

Three mentioned above causes showed to have different impacts on certain parts of the world in the late 20th century. Europe had the biggest portion of land degradation at 23%, which was largely contributed by the highest rate of deforestation - 9,8%. However, deforestation impacts on North America and Oceania presented minimal, at only 0,2% and 1,7% in turn.

Another interesting point is that no farmland of Oceania suffered from over-cultivation. Whereas due to that reason, North American and Europe underwent a considerable decrease in productivity of agricultural land, with 3,3% and 7,7% land being affected.

Furthermore, over-grazing was the biggest problem of Oceania, and accounted for 11,3% of its less productive farmland. While in Europe and North America, animal grazing seemed to be an insignificant issue, only caused by 5,5% and 1,5% in turn of degraded farmland.
