In terms of food, the figure for Japan and Malaysia was approximately 24% and 27% respectively. Meanwhile, the highest category in Malaysia was housing, at 34%.This was more than in Japan, at 21%.
The proportion of household expenditure on health in two countries was lowest. In Japan, this made up 20% of the total, while 6% of the total expenditure spent on healthcare. These figures were roughly double those shown for Malaysia.
