The pie charts illustrate the percentage of five types of energy generated in France in 1995 and 2005. Overall, the energy production for from coal and gas was the highest, while the opposite was true for other unidentified sources and nuclear power. All energy sources increased except for petrol which showed a declining trend in two years
In 1995, energy production from coal stood at 29.80%, closely followed by gas and petrol, at 29.63% and 29.27%, respectively. However, the manufacture of the two remaining types of energy, including other unidentified sources and nuclear power, was significantly lower, with the former being 4.9% and the latter being 6.4%.
Both coal and gas had risen negligibly to 30.93% and 30.31% respectively by 2005. In terms of the percentages for other unidentified sources and nuclear power, they also increased moderately with nuclear power growing to 9.1% and other unidentified energy rising to 10.1%. In contrast, only the proportion of petrol had witnessed a decrease to approximately 10% by 2005
