The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year

The illustrations compare the layout of an airport site at the moment and in the following year with some projected renovation

Overall, there will be major alterations including the relocation of some recent amenities and the construction of new ones, in order to elevate the flying experience of passengers

Looking at the current airport conditions, the main hall is separated into two halves: departure hall to the left and arrival hall to the right. While there are a check-in counter and a café situated on the left-hand side and right-hand side of the departure hall respectively, the hall for arrivals is empty. After passing the security and passport control areas which are located above these halls, passengers can reach the walkway leading them to 8 different departure gates

Regarding the airport refurbishment, the two gates for departures and arrivals will be duplicated. The cafe will be moved to the southeast corner of the departure hall and the check-in counter will be relocated to the previous location of the old café, which will be opposite a bag drop area. Remarkably, the arrival hall is planned to be equipped with new facilities to the east with a café, an ATM and a car hire in the order from top to bottom. The security and passport control will remain unchanged, while shops will emerge at the existence of these areas. Moreover, many significant transformations are projected when there will not only be more than a twofold increase in the departure gates but also a replacement of the walkway to sky trains in the middle of the Y-shaped corridor
