Review Book
Sans Famille is one of the best books I have ever read. It is written by the famous French author, Hector Malot.
The book won an award from the French Institute of Literature and was made into a film. The story revolves around the life of poor boy Remi. He was an orphan abandoned on a street corner, then he was adopted by a family named Barberin. Here, he is very lucky to be loved by his adoptive mother Barberin. But soon, Mr. Barberin returned and sold him to Vitalis- the owner of a circus. Vitalis became the first teacher in the life of Remi, who taught, instructed, and educated him to be a good person. Then during his travels around the world, he got to know the Milligan family and their son Arthur on the boat "Swan". There, Remi was able to enjoy the feeling of happiness with Arthur's mother and Arthur. But not long after that, Mr. Vitalis died leaving Remi without a family to follow this circus. It seemed that Remi's life here had come to a standstill, but fortunately, he was adopted by Pierre's family. However, he left this house. During this time, he encountered many troubles but he was still able to overcome them all. After that, the boy met and interacted with the boy Mattia - a talented child artist, the two children became good friends and stood side by side. Thanks to Mattia, Remi was able to find her mother and family. It was surprising that Remi’s mother was the owner of the ship "Swan". Finally, he lives happily with his family.
The book engages me in a non-stop adventure with many emotions, sometimes is happy and sometimes is sad. Through this novel, I find this to be a work of high human value, upholding the laborers' spirit of perseverance and hard work, and at the same time, the author also encourages genuine friendship and humanity, love, benevolence. The will to continuously rise. For me, “Sans Famille” is a good book, very nice and meaningful, full of humanity. The book helps us to love life more, appreciate what we have, and strive for the future. And it's worth reading once in your life.
