A survey conducted for the places in which people gain access to the internet from 1998 to 2004

The bar chart illustrates data on the percentage of people using the internet at home, work, college and library between 1998 and 2004.
Overall, there were more people accessing the internet at home than at other places over the whole period, while there was a declining trend in the percentage of people who used the Internet at work and college. Besides, the figure for library remained stable over the period.
In 1998, the most common place where people used the internet was at home, with 52%. This number continued rising to reach a peak of 55% in 2004. Despite some fluctuations, the percentage of people accessing the internet at the library remained constant from 1998 to 2004, at approximately 15%.
By contrast, the figure for college started to 20% in 1998 but this was followed by a slight fall to 17% in 2004. Similarly, there was a noticeable decrease in the percentage of people using the internet at college, with only 28% to 10% in 1998 and 2004 respectively.
