Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the contributions of all sources are increased, though the national government ramained the main source. In terms of expenditure, the amount of money paid for salaries of officers and staffs outnumbered the spending on technology, buildings and transport.
Turning to financial aspect, funding from national government accounted for a significant portion in both two years. In 2017, it contributed 175.5 million pounds, whereas in 2018, it was 177.8 million pounds, a trivial rise. In contrast, there was a marked increase in local taxes, climbed considerebly more than 10 million pounds in 2018 compared with the previous year. Other sources, such as grants, were larly unchanged, at around 38 million pounds for both year. The total police budget was over 300 million pounds in 2017 and decresed dramatically by more than 13 million pounds in the following year.
In terms of budgetary allocation, the money which devoted to salaries of officers and staffs was three-quarters of the total budget in 2017 reduced to 69% in the next year, a moderate downward trend. However, the amount used for technology almost doubled after one year, grew from 8% to 14%, while spending on buildings and transport stabilized 17% in each year.
