The table illustrates the average travelled distance in miles per person in England between fifteen years from 1985 to 2000. Overall travelled distance has about fifty per cent increased from 4740 in 1985 to 6475 in 2000. Most of the covered travel miles per person by personal cars in both years.
In 1985 passengers travel by taxi only 13 miles by which ignorable however miles are jumped around three times in 2000 but still it second last in 2000. The least miles covered by bicycle in 2000 is 41 which came down from 51 in 1985. in cars, people cover 75 per cent of miles from total miles in both years. In local bus travelled miles has been fifty per cent decreased from 429 to 174. although, in 2000 long route bus miles per person has more than double in comparison of 1985. train miles also had a fifty per cent jump in 2000. walking saw a decrease in 2000 from 255 to 237, other modes of transportation increased miles per person.
