The enrollment statistics of students at Manchester University is illustrated in the table. The figures are given for the years 1937,1967 and 2017.
Overall, it can be seen that the University witnessed the highest enrollment in 2017.we can also see that the international reputation of the University increased during the period.
In 1937, 327 new students enrolled at the university. Among this 45% were female and 55% were male students. In these more than half of the students came from within 64 km of Manchester. Only 6% of students were international, from 4 countries. In 1967, the figures of enrollment increased to 1133. However, the proportion of female students decreased(35%), whereas the male proportion Increased(65%). The figures for international students rose to a percentage with students from 26 countries. However, Only less than a fifth of the students were from within 64 km of Manchester.
In 2017, there was a sharp increase in the student enrollment number(6254). The percentage of female students rose to 55% whereas, the ratio for men declined to 45%. The students who came from abroad increased to 32%, from over 102 countries. Finally the proportion of pupils who came from within 64 km of the city decreased to 1-2%.
