The table below gives information about the values of exports of kiwi fruit from New Zealand to five countries between 2010 and 2012.
The table illustrates changes in the total amount of money that New Zealand earned from exporting kiwi fruit to Japan, China, Mexico, Russia and Saudi Arabia during the period from 2010 and 2012.
Overall, there were general upward trends in the earnings of kiwi in Japan and China, while the figures for the other countries experienced a reverse trend. It is also clear that Japan was considered the leading exporting market over the given period.
271,100,000 NZ dollars was the value of kiwi exports to Japan compared to that of China (74,900,000 dollars). After that, the export values in these two countries increased remarkably to 325,300,000 dollars for the former and 94,000,000 dollars for the latter. In comparison, Russia was ranked third on the list, rising noticeably from around one million dollars to over 2,400,000 dollars within two years.
Regarding Mexico, New Zealand gained 6 million dollars when selling kiwi to this country in 2010, followed by a threefold drop in its value two years later. Over the same period, the export of this type of fruit to Saudi Arabia went up markedly to more than 400,000 dollars at the beginning before witness a sudden fall to only 82,000 dollars in the following two years.
