The table below gives information on consumer spending on different items in five different countries in 2002.
The diagram illustrates the proportion of client expenditure in various goods over five countries in 2002.
It can be clearly seen that residents in these five countries also tended to spend much more on food, drinks and tobacco than other items. Overall, the expenditure in leisure and education had the lowest proportion of spending.
food, drinks and tobacco were the largest spending sections over five countries. 32.14% of turkey went on these items, followed by Ireland with 28.91%. Compared with the above nations, the expenditures of these items in italy, spain and sweden had a much lower proportion, but accounted for over 15%, from 15.77% in sweden to 18.80% in spain.
The proportions were significantly less on other categories. As for clothing and footwear, only 9% was marked on italy, where livers spent most these items already and lower than food, drinks and tobacco by 7.36%. Likewise, sweden showed the lowest proportion at 5.40% while other countries were consumed consistently equally in the proportion of expenditure. The amount of leisure and education was the least, ranging from 1.98% in spain to 4.35% in turkey.
