The given table provides information about the number of Australians coming from various types of households lived in poverty in the year of 1999. Overall, it is clear that nuclear family makes up the largest proportion, while old-couple family turns out to have the most sufficient life.
In 1999, more than 900,000 people in the family comprising of couple and children had poor living condition. While the proportion of couple with children family is only 12%, single type and single parent type reach the highest at around 20%, but the result of adults unmarried and not having children peaked at 359,000 which was over 120,000 people more than the other type.
The percentages and the real statistic numbers of aged people hit the bottom with the merely same figures at approximately 5 percent and 50,000 people respectively. Moreover, 7 percent as well as over 200,000 couples not having children lived under average living standard in 1999. Those numbers contribute to a total of about a tenth of households in all types which is nearly 2 million Australians who lived in poverty back to the year of 1999.
