The table below shows the proportions of pupils attending four secondary school types between 2000 and 2009.
The provided table gives information on how students spent their time in 4 different schools (in percentage) from 2000 to 2009. Overall, it can be seen that the pupils attending percentage in community schools boomed gradually. By contrast, others schools had experienced downward trends.
In 2000, the figure for community schools stood at 12%. After 2 years, it almost tripled to 32%, and it rocked up significantly by 4 years period (58%), leading to the highest school attended by pupils. For voluntary-controlled schools, at the beginning of the year, it had massive percentage of pupils (52%). Furthermore, it was the highest number of pupils, but it decreased dramatically (20%) by the end of period.
In 2000, it was 24% pupils who attend in grammar schools, and the proportion experienced a slightly decrease (19%) in 2005. It was in 2009 that percentage for grammar schools dropped to 12%. Compared to others, specialist schools were the least schools which attended by student between 2000 (12%) and 2009 (10%). It can be seen the figure for specialist schools felt slightly over the period.
