The table illustrates how many vehicles in Australia were registered in five different vehicle types in the year of 2010, 2012 and 2014.
Overall, in the three years mentioned, the number of passenger vehicles registered was the highest and light trucks was the lowest. In addition, the most significant change was seen in the figure of motorcycles.
In the first year, apparently, the most popular type of vihicle is passenger vehicle with 11,800,000 people registered this kind of vihicle and a moderate increase of 900,000 vehicles was seen in the next 2 years. The second highest figure was the figure of commercial vehicles, with 2,300,000 vehicles registered in 2010 and 2,600,000 in 2012. The remaining types of vehicles namely, motorcycles, heavy trucks and light trucks are the lowest, accounting for 540,000, 384,000, 106,000 vehicles of the total vehicles respectively. 2 years later, motorcycles witnessed the biggest increase of 140,000 vehicles, compared to 6,000 and 18,000 vehicles of heavy trucks and light trucks.
Despite having the most positive changes in the number of motorcycles and light trucks, the order still remained unchanged in 2014. Passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles were still predominant in the year with 13,000,000 and 2,700,000 vehicles respectively. Following by the figures of motor cycles, heavy trucks and light trucks, just under 710,000 vehicles registered.
