The table displayed the average band scores of students from four different nationalities taking the IELTS Academic Exam in 2010.
Overall, both the overall and skills band scores of Romanian test takers were the highest, while Italy was the country that had the lowest overall band scores. Furthermore, the Romanians also achieved the highest marks in reading and listening skills, whereas Italian students had the lowest score in writing.
Looking at the table more closely, it was noticeable that Romanian test takers achieved the highest score in almost every skill, scoring 7.1, 7.2, 6.2, and 6.8 in listening, reading, writing, and speaking respectively. This was followed by the Kannada, which achieved a 6.7 overall score, with the same speaking score as Romanian test takers and a 7.0 reading score. This reading score was also similar to what Malaysian students scored.
The second-highest reading score was obtained by the Italian, with a 7.0 mark. However, they also had the lowest marks in other sections, scoring 6.4 in reading, 5.8 in writing, and 6.3 in speaking.
