Overall, most five countries saw an overall increase in sales of both coffee, but sales of Fairtrade bananas only went up in three out of five countries from 1999 to 2004. It is clear that the spending of bananas in the UK was the highest, compared to other countries.
Looking at sales of coffee, Switzerland reached/had the highest sales of Fairtrade coffee, about 3 million euros in 1999, this figure doubled to 6 euros in 2004. Also, there were 1.8 and 1.5 million euros of turnover of coffee in Denmark the UK, these figures rose by 0.2 and 18.5 after the period of 5 years, respectively. Belgium and Sweden, which earned 1 million and 0.8 million euro, managed to maximize their profits to 1.7 and 1 million euro in 2004.
Nevertheless, the UK earn huge money from sales of bananas in both years, about 15 and 47 million of euros. In 1999, Switzerland and Denmark earn about 1 and 0.6 millions, these numbers went up to 5.5 and 4 million euros in the next 5 following years. By contrast, the figures of sales of bananas in Belgium and Sweden was under 2 million euros in 1999. 2004 saw a decline in these figures in these two countries, reaching to under 1 million euro.
