The information about the percentage of car use in the city of Edmonton that divided into five main reasons is shown in the table.
Overall, the proportion of people who commute to work get the highest number among the other reasons. On the other hand, the citizen who are using automobile for shopping and doing leisure activities experiences the lowest proportion between them all.
It can be seen that the society ride their car for work have the percentage at 55% which is the highest between all the activities. The second highest proportion reason is business, taking up at 45% of people will use the automotive vehicle for their business affair. It is only 5% difference between the business reason and taking children to school by taking a car. The last two activities (go shopping and recreation) are the lowest proportion of people’s reasons why they are driving their car, at 15% for each activity.
