The tables give information about the average hours work by part-time and full-time men and women in three countries in Europe in 2002 and compare them with the European countries.

The table below depicts the comparison between three European countries, namely Greece, the Netherlands, the U.K. and the middle of Europe's workers, in terms of the data about the average number of hours for full-time and part-time employees in 2002. Overall, it is noticeable that men worked longer than women, both full-time and part-time, in Greece and the UK, while the Netherlands witnessed an equal amount for both genders.

For permanent work, Greek males and females labored the longest full-time hours, with 42,5 for men and 39,9 for women. Male and female full-time workers from the Netherlands contributed the same number of hours, at 38 each. By contrast, UK male full-time employees only worked 37,5 hours a week and females worked an average of 37 hours per week, which was the lowest figures in full-time work. The average European male full-time worker puts in approximately 40 hours a week, compared to more than 1 hour for a female.

For a brief work, Greek was again at the top of the table, at 30 hours for men and 29.3 hours for women, respectively. Women in the Netherlands worked 29.2 hours per week in part-time jobs, more than an hour longer than men in this nation. Similar to a full-time job, UK women worked the fewest hours, at 28 per week, while UK men worked 29 hours per week, an hour more than men who labored temporarily in the Netherlands. Additionally, the European average was higher than any of the individual countries, recording figures of 34 for women and 32 for men. Finally, the average male temporarily working hours are less than 2 hours for a female.
