Task 1: The bar chart shows the types of media to get the daily news, by age group in 2011

Given is the bar chart depicting the discrepancy of five distinct age groups in the methods of acquiring the latest information daily in the year 2011.

It is conspicuous that radio was the most favorable media means of all people except for the youngest one who was in the age of 10 to 17. Meanwhile, microblogging seemed not to be accessed more than the other types by all of the respondents.

In terms of social networking, the popularity was deemed to decrease when users got older with more than 80% used by those who were in 10 to 29. However, this number dropped significantly by 30% because of the changes in accessing news behaviors of middle-aged people. News readers who were in the age of 65 and over did not spend much time on social networking with only 25% documented compared to 40% of the 50 to 64 aged group.

Regarding the most prevalent approach to daily information, radio was named with more than 85% accounted by nearly all age groups apart from the teens with only 40%. More specifically, roughly 92% was documented by the second youngest group while the oldest group had a 10% lower in access. In opposition, microblogging held the lowest position when not any groups preferred it as the way to obtain news. While the young adults who were 18 to 29 tended to use it more than the other four groups, it only made up approximately 25% which was 7% and 10% higher than that of readers aged 30 to 49 and 50 to 64 respectively. Similarly, respondents in the oldest age did not favor it much with only 10% which was the lowest percentage recorded in the year 2011.
