Task 1: Department Stores and Online Stores in Australia
The table gives information about department and online stores in Australia in 2011.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Department Stores Online Stores
Number of Businesses 67 368
Profit (million AUD) 807 863
Sales Revenue (million AUD) 12,700 13,400
Growth .4% .6%

The table makes comparison between two main types of Australian business in 2011: Department and online stores.
Overall, although the online businesses’ operation overweighed the department businesses one, the gap between their profits, incomes and growth rate was explicitly unremarkable.
In 2011, while the number of department stores only reached 67 in total, the one in online retail was nearly 6 times higher. However, the huge digital operation did not make any distinctive progress comparing to the conventional one in its profit gains. With 863 figures in AUD, it was only 56 million dollars higher than the 67-store method. The two sectors left also proved the inconsiderable difference between the two businesses. After one year, both of the sales incomes in both types of retail were respectively around 13,000 million Australian dollars. Last but not least, the growth rate which showed the efficiency of a pattern of retail, this time proved how efficient online stores were when being put on the other side of the scale with department stores. With 6 percent in growing, the percentage was only 2 percent higher than the small operation.
