The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The two maps illustrate the changes to how a city hospital could be accessed over a 3-year period, between 2007 and 2010. Overall, the hospital was more approachable for patients. Apart from the construction of two roundabouts, new infrastructures were also built, acting as facilitators of access to the site.
In 2007, the city hospital was surrounded by Ring Road, which is connected via a joint with Hostial Road. On this street, a series of six bus stops located on both sides enable public transport users to access the hospital, while a car park on the right was used by both staff and the public. In 2010, the two intersections connecting Hospital Road with Ring Road and City Road were replaced by the building of two roundabouts. A newly constructed bus stop also connected them, offering more road access. The original car park was also split into two; and while the position in which hospital staff could park their cars remained unchanged, the public needed to move to another one to the right of the hospital.
