The two pie charts below show the online shopping sales for retail sectors in Canada in 2005 and 2010.
The pie chart indicates the percentage of retail sectors sales on the internet in Canada from 2005 to 2010. Overall, the proportion of each retail sector changed over the period. While the figures for video games, food and beverage rose, the figures for other two retail sectors fell.
To begin, in 2005, video games which were the lowest retail sectors purchased accounted for 18% of total online sales. This percentage then increased to 23% of total online sales in 2010. Similarly, accounting for 22% of total online sales in 2005, the percentage of food and beverage rose to 32% of total online sales in 2010. Those retail sectors, therefore, were mostly sold in Canada at the end of the period.
In contrast, although electronics and appliance were the most retail sectors sold, with 32% of total online sales in 2005, this figure declined slightly to 30% of total online sales in 2010. Like electronics and appliance, home furnishing saw a similar trend that the online sales of this retail sector had fallen from 25% to 15% of total online sales during five years.
