The two pie charts describe the proportion of the industry sector's contribution to Turkey's economy in the years 2000 and 2016.
Overall, agriculture contributed the most to the economy, while construction was the smallest segment of the pie chart in 2000. After six years, healthcare and education was the most significant part of Turkey's economy, while the lowest contribution was made by finance, business and other services sector.
The construction sector accounted for 3% in the first year and increased by 10% at the end of the period. Moreover, trade, utilities and transportation was 14% in 2000 and had a slightly grow of 2% in the year 2016. Besides, Manufacturing and other sector is finance business and other made up only 8% and 5% in 2000 respectively, and these figures rose to 12% and 8% in 2016.
Firstly, agriculture is the highest contribution sector at 24% but it dropped to 14% in 2016. Not only agriculture, but the government sector also started at 12% in 2000 and to fell 9% in the same year. The Leisure and hospitably sector recorded a slight decrease from 17% to 14%, while healthcare and education remained stable at 17%.
