In this day and age, the presence of corporal punishment in schools is not as frequent as before, in which opinions diverge on whether schools should take advantage of applying this form of penalty on students to control their conduct. Although some fervently advocate this sentiment, I am at loggerheads owing to a handful of rational reasons.
Admittedly, serious physical and psychological hurts are attributed to corporal punishment application in formal schooling. To be more accurate, serious injuries, including severe muscle harm, extensive bruising and even worstly damaged internal organs or brain, are potential repercussions of this violent practice. Additionally, whips leave long-term psychology obsessions in lieu of lessons. An invisible fear is able to be formed vaguely in a student's memory to hinder them from repeating inappropriate behaviors, which is an association of the teacher’s presence who fines them. However, it does not signify that children themselves decide what to do relying on comprehending the moral aspect of their behaviours. This suggests that instead of guiding pupils to be aware of good characters as a part of educational mission, physical hitting in schools just only turns them to “conditional reaction creatures”.
