writing task 1: the birth rates of China and America
The picture below illustrates shifts in the birth rates between China and USA over the course 80 years starting in 1920
Looking at the graph it is clearly obvious that both nations witness a downward trend and the number of people were born in china registers the highest figure in 1950.
In china, the fertility rate stood at 10 in 1920. This figure increased slightly to 15 in 1935 before reaching the low rate at 5 between 1940 and 1945. However, there was a sharp rise in the number of birth rates from 1945 and hit the peak at 20 in 1950. Then, after 1950 it was witnessed a downward trend till 2000.
In the America, there was a fluctuation from 1920 to 1940 before hitting the bottom at 4 in the year 1945. Next, the number of birth rates rose dramatically and hit the peak at 15 which was less, compared to china in 1950. The downward trend was witnessed in the number of people were born in the America , which declined sharply between 1950 and 2000.
