The number of students who graduated each year in Canada from 1992 to 2007 is shown in the graph below. Overall, there was an increasing trend in the number of graduates for both genders during this period.
There were almost 100,000 female graduates in 1992. The number of female graduates rose to over 100,000 but less than 110,000 from 1992 to 1995 and dropped slightly to about 100,000 until 1998. From then on to 2007, more and more girls graduated from university each year and the total number ended up to less than 150,000 in 2007.
On the other side, there was a fluctuation in the number of annual male graduates. It started from a bit more than 70,000 and increased to over 75,000 till 1995. Tree years later, in 1998, the number came to slightly over 70,000. It was not until 2001 that the number stopped fluctuating. Later on, there were more and more boys who graduated from university in Canada. Finally, the total number moved up to around 95,000 in 2007.
