The following pie charts compare percent of British students able to speak other languages with the addition of their native language. Studies were carried out at one university in England in two separate years.
It is apparent that percent of British students increased over the period who able to speak in various languages except French language only. A much larger portion of British students loved to speak in Spanish language only whereas few students loss their interest in learning French language.
According to chart, 20% people unable to speak in any language in 2000 while the ratio reduced by half in 2010 and only 10% pupils accounted as able to speak English only. In 2010, particularly 10% people knew how to talk in French language which is 5% less in comparison with 2000. There was no change in portion of British students who able to speak German language only. The figure remained at 10% in both mentioned year.
On the other hand, Spanish language was most favorite among British university students and peaked at 35% in 2010 which is 5% more than 2000. 10% and 15% students able to make their speech in two other languages and another language respectively in 2000. A sharp rose in 2010 in both sectors consequently 5% more students capable to speak.
