Dear Matt,
I hope that you must be enjoying your life, I wish to meet here in Toronto on Kapil's Wedding. i received you letter on two weeks ago but sorry for the delay in the response and just to let you know that i had had the same circumstance that you are going though. However, there was slightly difference with me due to my Job position.
I can imagine your situation during this hard time seeking support from you manager. Definitely, reporting to your Senior director after by passing your manager is not easy task while you are just associate Manager and especially, Manager do not support when you have got the escalation from client. you are on level 3 support so have the worse condition than me as you do not know management politics.
Therefore, i would advice you to take online classes for ITIL foundation and you must go for MBA course as this could helpful. Even, you should learn weak side of your Manager, make it positive for you.
I believe, you will find these ideas better to suit for you as i gone though the same path.
