A friend you met last year has invited you to visit him/her in his/her country. You have never been there before and need some information before you leave.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:
• request advise about a gift for his/her family
• ask about activities and clothing in his/her country
• find out about the food
You do NOT need to write any address.
You should write at least 150 words.
Dear Katherine,
I am delighted to have received your letter. Thank you for inviting me to celebrate Christmas with your family in London.
This will be my first trip to England and I will need your help with packing, and planning my travel. I would like your recommendation on suitable Christmas present for your family.
I hear, that the weather in London is very chilly, especially at the end of the year. I intend to pack bare minimum required, and carry 2 pair of warm boots. I am looking forward to the ice-rink and the Christmas markets. I would also like to visit Oxford Street and the Covent Garden for a shopping spree.
I am not a fussy eater, but I would like to remind you that I’m a vegetarian. I hope this isn’t a matter of inconvenience to you or your family. I can cook efficiently and you really don’t have to worry about my eating preferences, otherwise.
A year has flown by, and I recollect my trip with you to the Bahamas as the best one so far. You have been my best travel partner. I shall be with you from 23rd December to 29th December. Well, it is going to be exciting week spent together.
See you soon!
Best wishes,
Khushleen
