Its good news that you are taking a break from work and have planned for vacation. As you asked for my suggestion, I would like to recommend you to visit the Taj Mahal in India, one of seven wonders of the world.
As I visited the Taj Mahal last year in winters, which is the best time to go. I was amazed to see that architectural marvel built in the 17th century by the emperor Shahjahan. Not only the design but the vicinity nearby it is full of greenery. When you go up the roof a scenic beauty of the river can be viewed. A breeze of cool air comes from there.
When you are finished seeing the monument and leave for the gate. Stalls full of traditional material are lined up outside from where you can purchase the local speciality. The commuting is quite easy and a cab can be booked from the hotel room.
I stayed with my family in the Sheraton hotel situated on the main street. They can arrange for you some local guides, but in case if you want to hire on your own then lookout for genuine guides who will be helping you in the sightseeing, it will save you a lot of your precious time instead of doing research by yourself where to go.
