A local college is having an international day. You want to speak about your country to students from different cultures.
Write a letter to the college head. In your letter:
Tell him/her about the topics that you are going to talk about
Explain why would they be of interest to the students
Ask about any arrangements that you need to make to give the talk
Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Sorena. I recently came to the announcement about the cultural day at your college. I found it very interesting and I could not find any talk about Iran’s culture in your arrangement. Since I am an Iranian and well aware of this culture, I will be delighted if I could have a talk about it.
Iran’s culture is one of the most ancient cultures which has always support diversity among people. It was Cyrus The Great, the first emperor of Iran and the world, who issued the first human right manifest about 2500 years ago. Since many students of your college are the children or grandchildren of Iranians who immigrated here a long time ago, this could offer them a chance to know the culture of their ancestors. It also will help them if they visit Iran in the future.
I hope you find this topic interesting and useful for students. I highly appreciate it if you could give me some details such as the time and date that I might give the speech.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Sorena.
