My name is Diva, a resident of the colony, SSR Colony for more than 8 years now. I am writing this letter to draw your attention towards the work which you are about to start in a few days, demolishment of Golconda fort. This fort was built in the 1600s by the Mughals as they had ruled Hyderabad for more than 500 years, and it is one of the significant historical places for foreigners as well as to the residents. Furthermore, the design and material used to construct the building is unique, which can be inspirational to many architecture students.
This building has got a very huge garden so that visitors can enjoy and refresh themselves. Keeping this historical inheritance for the next generation should be the primary reason to restore. Additionally, this could be developed as a city landmark, as well.
Nowadays, local people are utilizing the garden area for practicing cricket and shuttle cork, and thus it can be used in the future by asking them to pay a small amount which could be useful for the maintenance in the future.
As a Citizen, I urge a considerate not to pull down the historic building.
