Write a letter to an English speaking friend who wants to come for a short stay, to let them know that unfortunately you will be busy during their visit. In your letter
– Explain your situation.
– Suggest alternative dates to meet.
– What activities could you do together?
Dear Jim,
It’s been so long since we last have seen each other, and I can’t tell you how much excited I am to see you again.
Currently, due to increased work pressure, I am occupied by work from 12 to 16 hours a day. It happened since an important project went behind the schedule because of some technical faults. Owing to these circumstances, I’m afraid that I won’t be available while you’ll be visiting.
Can I ask you about your availability for the next week? My team and I are certain to finish this delayed project in a couple of days. Do let me know if you are available between 12 June- 18 June. As I am doing overtime, I can take 6 paid leaves and can spend some quality time together.
In terms of recreational activities, I know you love river rafting and camping, so I can arrange a trip so Lakeshore valley for that. In addition, there’s a flower festival in my town around the same time, therefore, if you are up for it, we can go there as well.
I know how much inconvenient it would be to reschedule your visit; however, if you plan according to above-mentioned dates, I promise you that this discomfort would be worth it.
See you soon.
Alex
